FEATURED PROJECT
Titan Spar Reefing Project: An Ecological Strategy for the Gulf
Blue Latitudes supported Equinor in building the environmental case for reefing the Titan spar hull and associated subsea infrastructure in Mississippi Canyon. Our team developed ROV survey protocols to assess marine life colonization on the spar and subsea structures, comparing results against historical maintenance footage to establish their ecological significance. To support permitting, Blue Latitudes prepared a site characterization report describing bathymetry, currents, and biological communities at candidate reef sites, and used FishLAT to evaluate fishing activity and vessel traffic in the area. These findings were consolidated into an Ecological Assessment Report that now underpins Equinor's reefing permit and broader decommissioning strategy.
